A Good Design that Hasnt Changed

By Gabriel Diaz from Gallup, NM on Dec 2, 2013

I had a pair of black jungle boots issued to me when I was in the army over 30 years ago. These Alatamas are a identical design but in desert tan color (since thats where the majority of our troops deploy to nowadays). Even after 30 years, this classic design hasn't changed. Still lightweight, breathable, and most of all comfortable. I can appreciate products that have stood the test of time like these bad boys!

Made for hot desert conditions

By Kevin from Kandahar on Jul 21, 2013

Great boots for the Afghanistan desert. It gets 130 degrees out here so staying cool is part of staying alive. I've worn cheaper Bates synthetic boots that have literally melted on tarmac out here. These Altama jungle boots have real rubber soles that can take those kind of conditions. Several of the guys out here have this same boot. It's pretty lightweight with the ballistic nylon fabric which is easy to move in. Not the best boots for ankle support but if you need to do a lot of rucking you need a boot that isn't restrictive and this is the one.

great boot

By Rob Cooksey on Feb 12, 2013

great all around boot. I got these boots in black 20 years ago issued by the army. Now the deserts look better and are made with the same design all the way to the panama sole. this is one popular model that will never go out of style. it's design is so perfect in every way...lightweight, cool, dries easily. buy them!
