These boots are great and worth the price. Lightweight and made for hot weather. Not much ankle support but your can't have a well supported boot designed for hot weather. The extra material would make the boot hot. for Afghanistan's 120 degree weather, these are perfect

keep your feet cool

the sole is thin on these boots but they are jungle boots that were designed for the tropical vietnam jungle. theres a reason these boots have kept the same design for over 30 years. theyre simple boots but designed to do what a jungle boot does which is keep your feet cool and be lightweight. A lot of the newer boots are made of foam and plastic which insulates your feet. if youre looking to keep your feet cool get these.
