My Dad gave me these as a gift. These boots are different that what I was issued in the Corps. They were very light out of the box and didn't look like they would hold up to heavy use. They are extremely well cushioned and comfortable even during runs. Bates did a great job with putting Vibram soles on this boot. They grip extremely well even on wet surfaces and they do dry quickly as advertised.

These boots are great for hot and humid environments. I live in Mississippi and let me say these boots keep my feet cool and breatheable. They aren't waterproof and arent advertised to do so but they do dry out quickly. These are my first pair of Bates and I will be sticking with the brand.
