I've owned these Bates E050501 boots for 3 months now rucked rougly 200 miles in them. I walk and run every day in them and they're so comfortable I wear them on the weekends. These boots offer great comfort straight out of the box with little break in. They are great for guys with flat feet like me that need a supportive boot. They are easy to keep clean with a boot brush and they're very stain resistant. They run same as my running shoe size. Thanks Bates for a great boot!
Broke in great after a couple of days. Very comfortable. Sizing was right on.
This is my second pair of Bates USMC Dura Shocks. Comfortable and lightweight. Easy to keep them looking good as new. I use a hard bristle brush and go over them. Dirt comes right off. Easy to keep them looking new. Excellent arch, and heel support. Great pair of boots.
Purchased these from the PX while I was in Afghanistan in 2012. I've gotten 4 solid years of hard use out of them. The sole is finally starting to separate from the upper portion of the boot. I just bought another pair and I'm expecting 4 more good years.
I bought these boots 2 months before going to OCS. They broke in really fast and I was going on 5+ mile ruck runs a week after with no blisters. They were comfortable and everything but they offered very poor grip on rope climbs and don't let you stop at all on rope rappels. If you're looking for a lightweight boot though, I'd recommend these
Boots broke in super quick. After a couple of ruck runs they were good to go. Very comfortable to run in and . I was happy I purchased a wide size. The size fit as advertised.
These Bates USMC boots have lasted me going on 3 years. Hands down, the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. They do a great job of keeping your feet dry. The sole pattern has finally worn all the way and developed a crack through the sole. The leather is still in decent shape. I really cant complain. I've put these boots through hell and brought them back
These Durashock boots are like walking on pillows. Really minimizes foot fatigue and they really pay off the last few hours of a long duty day. They lasted since by last combat patrol in Kuwait last year
I bought these for the extended amount of hiking I do in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I'm not in the military but I tried most of the major brands of hiking boots to include Lowas, Hi-Tecs, Asolos, Vasques, and many more. I tried I decided to try these on the advice of my brother used in the Air Force and raves about Bates boots. He recommended the Durashocks and can't say enough good things. I decided to try the hot weather version because it has a much sole, unlike the cold weather version that has a Vibram sole which is supposed to be much more rugged and durable but at the same time very heavy.I really like these boots because they are perfect for the today and we can hikes that I do in the mountains. I go through a lot of rocky inclines and declines and these do a great job of being comfortable and providing excellent traction on most terrain. The other thing I like about this boot is the two side vents which promote ventilation and cool your feet especially when it's hot. Try up there and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I'm definitely a believer and as soon as these wear out I'll be buying another pair.
I got these specifically for garrison duty since they have the lighter duty lightweight sole. I ordered a full size smaller than my running shoe and they fit perfect.
