I've deployed to Afghanistan twice and these boots are by far the best I've had. They fit perfect and stand up to everyday use. They keep my feet cool in the 120+ degree weather. Perfect in every way as far as I'm concerned for a hot weather ACU approved boot
I bought these after the Army switched over to desert boots. They're harder to keep clean compared to the black BDU boots but very comfortable and great quality I would expect from Danner.
I've been wearing the Danner Desert Rough Out Boots for over 2 years now. They are hands down the most comfortable military boots I've owned since I entered the Army in 2005. As long as they keep making these, I'll keep buying them. Really comfortable, lightweight, and looks great with the ACU. If you want the best boot on the market, you've found it.
i wore these going on three years and these have been through 2 middle east deployments. they stand up to punishment and worthy of the danner name. i was initially disappointed to find out they are made in china but nonetheless they have really improved my comfort standard. you can't really remove the "suck" factor in a lot of things but these boots make it about as good as its gonna get.
These boots are super light. They feel really solid and protect your feet and ankles really well. The heel is well padded. This is what I would expect for a $190 pair of boots. They don't run large or small. I ordered my Nike athletic shoe size and they fit perfect. Just don't go off of a different brand of boot because the sizing is specific to each brand.
These boots help me get through my Iraq deployment. Definitely 5 stars in the comfort and lightweight category. They are about as comfortable a boot as I've ever worn. They feel like my running shoes but tough enough to survive 10 mile rucks in 120 degree heat. They were on the expensive side but you get what you pay for. They did run 1/2 size large than my regular running shoe size.
Extremely light boot but made in China. I thought all of Danners boots were made here. The quality control is poor in my opinion because the fabric around the lace eyelets keep fraying so I have to keep trimming them. Really annoying. I ordered my regular shoe size and these were big so I was initially getting some hot spots on long rucks. I had to double up my socks which fixed it.I'll probably consider a different boot next time.
These boots were an excellent buy in my opinion. Durable and long wearing. I've had these for almost 2 years and they still look and feel great. The sole is almost flat and the laces are frayed but they are still wearable. I'm writing this review because I just picked up another pair of these. I'll expect the new pair to last me another 2 years.
I have to say I was surprised the first time I put these on. Huge upgrade in comfort over the Army issued garbage and my Converses after that. Glad I made the leap to Danner after hearing a couple of guys in my unit say great things about these boots. They did run a bit tight after replacing the factory insoles with a pair of my custom made ones that I normally wear. Other than that amazing boot!
